1. Even with a major vinyl revolution are there still only about 100 pressing plants globally, so demand is higher than production, which may be a key factor in the price of a new Vinyl.

2. Brazilian native Jose "Zero" Freitas has circa 8 million records, which dwarfs most people's collection.

3. Jack White (of the White Stripes) is an avid Vinyl collector and actually operates his own pressing plant.

4.  Ozzy Osbourne did bite the head off a real bat on stage in Des Moines, Iowa.  It was thrown onto the stage and Ozzy thought it was a plastic prop, however it was real, but is believed to be dead.

5. Shane MacGowan wrote the amazing Christmas song "The fairy tale of New York" as a bet with Elvis Costello (who was the Pogues producer at the time).  Elvis said they could not write a Christmas song that broke the norm, boy did they prove him wrong!

6. The best selling Vinyl of all time was Thriller by Michael Jackson, with estimates saying it has exceeded 70 million copies sold. So do not pay too much for a good copy, as there were tonnes sold!

7. The Beatles started as a five piece band with two members that after 1962 were no longer involved with the group.  The first was Stuart Sutcliffe who was the bass player and who tragically died young, from a brain hemorrhage, after leaving the band to foster his passion for painting.  The second member to leave in 1962 was Pete Best the Drummer, who was replaced by Ringo Star.  The reason for the change was due to the fact that George Martin the Beatles producer did not think that Pete Best had an intuitive sense of timing, which he believed was essential for a great Drummer. After departing the band on the request of the other members (but told by their manager Brian Epstein) just before the Beatles made it big, Pete tried unsuccessfully to forge out a career in the music industry and eventually led a normal life becoming an employment officer and and training manager.

8. George Straight the country music legend holds the record for the most number 1 songs across all charts and in any genre of music, but having 33 albums that are certified platinum or gold does gives you a fair few songs to become hits.

9. The Vinyl speed of 33 1/3 was not originally intended for music it was used to voice soundtrack in the 1920's, it was not until 1940's that it became common for music in an LP format.

10. If vinyl is stored in optimum conditions, handled with care and played on a decent record player then it will easily be playable in excess of 100 years, meaning it can be past from generation to generation and along with the depth of sound is a reason for the vinyl resurgence.
